TIP OF THE MONTH

Five PR Tips to Get Ready for InfoComm

We’re a little over a month away from the biggest commercial AV show of the year — InfoComm 2016. Here at InGear, the whole team looks forward to June with anticipation, ready to support our clients while they show off the best and brightest products in the industry. Without support though, InfoComm and large shows like it can seem like a daunting task. Here are five things that you can do in the weeks before the doors open at InfoComm to ensure your experience is a success:

  • 1. Get the Press List — Every year more than 200 journalists, analysts, and industry influencers attend InfoComm, and exhibitors have access to that treasured list of registered press. Get your hands on it the second it comes out and then…
  • 2. Get the Word Out — Any messaging you can get out to the press prior to the show opening is worth its weight in leads. Information about new products, seminars, or trainings you’ll be presenting should be in the press’ inbox before they pack their bags for Vegas.
  • 3. Meet the Press — Since you’ll be in the booth the majority of the show, target key members of the media and invite them to your booth for a brief meeting. Editors are walking the show floor every day hunting for stories. Anything you can do to make that job easier will be appreciated, such as…
  • 4. Bring Goodies — Everyone will have some sort of branded booth swag, but some companies really go the extra mile; offering bottles of water is one thing, but a branded InfoComm care package for weary show goers can really make a difference in establishing relationships.
  • 5. Be Friendly — It may seem like a no brainer, but kindness goes a long way in framing how potential customers view your company. If you’re a new or even an established presence at InfoComm, how you greet and treat your booth visitors will pay dividends for months and possibly years afterwards. And besides, it’s nice to be nice.

The countdown is on but there’s still time, if you need/want some help with your trade show planning, drop us a line. InGear is here to help make your InfoComm a success!

See you at the show!
