ISE 2017 Recap
Posted February 2017 by Veronica Esbona
Another ISE has come and gone, and for the InGear team, the show represents one of the biggest events of the year. The beauty of ISE is that it combines both the pro AV and residential AV spaces, being a joint InfoComm and CEDIA tradeshow — the spaces that most of our clients play in. From a personal standpoint, I’ve been attending ISE since its second year in Brussels, and it’s been remarkable to see how it’s grown into the largest AV event in the world.
Curious about ISE’s success?
- 11.7% increase in registered visitors over 2016; 73,413 total from 150 different countries
- 1,192 exhibitors
- A wide range of events including the Smart Building Conference, and extensive InfoComm and CEDIA education and training
- 14 halls of the Amsterdam RAI were filled for 2017; in 2018, there will be 15 halls
The tech takeaways? In the residential AV space, we saw that Alexa continues to pick up more traction within the AV ecosystem, with home automation manufacturers touting integration with control systems and motorized shades. Consumer audio was alive and well as audio booths and demo rooms showcased the possibilities of merging great design with technology. High-end immersive and invisible audio options permeated the show. And another interesting area for integrators is the increased growth of remote systems management and the recurring revenue options these bring.
For the pro AV market, it was all about AV over IP, 4K and beyond, collaboration, the cloud and software solutions, and digital signage. There’s plenty of great ISE show coverage from our media partners and tons of new product videos, interviews, talks, and sessions online. Check it all out. The bottom line: Great energy, connections made, and leads generated, which all point to a positive 2017 outlook.
Next up, InfoComm 2017, June 14-16 in Orlando, FL. See you all there!
